Terms of Service

Last updated: June 24, 2026

These terms govern your use of Speedup, a macOS application sold by Serafin Sanchez (“I”, “me”), and this website at speedupvideo.com. By downloading, purchasing, or using Speedup, you agree to these terms.

The software

Speedup is a desktop video tool for marking segments of a recording and exporting a single H.264 .mp4. It runs locally on your Mac. It is not a cloud service and does not guarantee compatibility with every video file or future macOS release, though I aim to keep it working on supported versions noted on the download page.

License

When you purchase Speedup, you receive a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use the app on your Macs, subject to any device limits stated at checkout. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer, or sublicense the app except where applicable law gives you rights I cannot restrict.

Your first export is free so you can evaluate the app before buying. After purchase, the license is perpetual — there is no subscription — and includes one year of updates from the purchase date as described on the pricing page.

Purchases and refunds

Payments are processed by Polar.sh as merchant of record. Refund requests are handled under Polar’s and my published refund policy at the time of purchase. If you have a billing issue, contact me through the support page and include your order details.

Setapp and other channels

Speedup may also be offered through third-party distribution such as Setapp. If you obtained the app through Setapp, your use is governed by Setapp’s terms in addition to the functional limitations described for the app itself.

Your content

You retain all rights to the videos you open in Speedup. I do not claim ownership of your recordings or exports. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to edit and publish the content you process.

Disclaimer

Speedup is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Video export involves complex system and media dependencies; I do not guarantee every export will succeed on every file or that output will meet a specific platform’s requirements, though that is the product goal.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of Speedup. My total liability for any claim related to the software is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

I may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
